WHAT IS AN EPD?

It is a document that accounts for a product’s environmental impact. An EPD is developed according to European and international standards, and it requires a deep knowledge of every part a product’s value chain. EPDs are approved and published by a third party, specifically certified for the task, in order to determine a product’s “green footprint”. The EPD is concerned with impacts from CO2 as well as environmental impacts on air, dirt, and water. In short, EPDs make it easier to compare the environmental impacts of different products.
