Ceder, Western Red
Ceder has a narrow, grayish red splinter, reddish-yellow/brownish core, mahogany-coloured, which becomes more intensive with time. Softer wood with medium breaking strength, low impact and bending strength, resistant to fungi and insects. Low shrinkage, good dimensional stability. Exterior trim, moldings, boat building, canoes, cigar boxes (regulates humidity for the benefit of cigars), musical instruments and boxes.
