Douglas
The Danish/European Douglas tree is not naturally native to Denmark, but was introduced in the 1860s from North America. The North American Douglas fir can grow up to 60-75 m tall with a diameter of 1.5-2 m.
Depending on the age and location of the tree, the color can vary from light brown with a little red or yellow with darker growth rings and naturally occurring knots. Is easy to process, good for gluing and has a nice finish. The light wood variety is used for floors, moldings and furniture, while large dimensions can be used for ship masts and mill blades.
